IOE 460 vs IOE 425

I heard IOE 425 requires quite an effort to get an A since it is graded on a straight scale. Does anyone know how IOE 460 is?

IOE 425 was not hard at all. I wouldn’t say I put in much effort at all and got an A-. The weekly online quizzes take like 5 minutes cuz you don’t actually need to do the reading. The exams aren’t difficult (I didn’t study much too, so I’d imagine if you studied everything you’d be golden). The projects are basically just long HW assignments with partners.

Also, the is pretty cool. She can be annoying sometimes, but overall a good teacher. Plus you get candy for participating in class and asking questions.

I don’t know its difficulty compared to other IOE courses though since I am finishing up in ME.

IOE 460 is definitely easier. It requires no effort. If you don’t care then take that. It’s pretty much just basic probability.

IOE 425 is really annoying, because of the weekly quizzes (they’re easy to forget), and the projects are very poorly written (never found out if they were intentionally poorly written to simulate what you’ll see in the “real world” or if it’s because the professor didn’t care - but they’re very poorly written), and because it’s just boring as hell.

neither are very difficult to get an A in, although I suppose 460 is easier. the material in 460 is more interesting/useful than 425, though, so I’d recommend taking that
