How likely is it for a out of state student to get a full ride scholarship ( including any need base financial aid they will be given) at University of Iowa?
Thanks

Also, if you would like to have economics as one of your majors do you have to be admitted into Tippie ( Iowa buisness school)? Usually economics is open to all students.

It’s difficult to answer your question when you haven’t described your qualifications. Even had you done so, the question of FULL-RIDE is best answered by admissions as that’s obviously a fairly small pool.

For OOS, the low-hanging fruit (no separate app) is National Scholars valued at 4k/year. From there you go to Old Gold (3k/yr, 350 awarded) and Presidential (20 awards only at up to full tuition). These are both covered by one app.

This is one of the scholarships I’ve received and was notified further information stating that base on financial need the scholarship could increase up to 75% of the cost of out of state tuition. Does this 75% include tuition of room and board etc… or just the 22k, also does this scholarship consist of the federal grant ( about 5k) given to need base aid students?
Thanks

I find myself getting more nervous about the college process with thoughts that where I’am accepted I simply will not be able to afford. At the University of Iowa one of the scholarships I recieved was Iowa Advantage Award. The award stated that the scholarship could increase if demonstrate financial need. I have a efc 0 and just question how likely is ones scholarship to increase if any at all, or chances are the scholarship typically stays as it?
Thanks, this will be very helpful.

I hear you bro. Im from Wisconsin, I have received the same scholarship (Iowa Advantage)and have an EFC of 0. Both of my parents have been laid off for awhile, and I dont have a lot of money saved as I have had to help pay bills. Stick in there. Im guessing if you get your FAFSA in before March 1st and you have a good ACT and GPA that you will get a lot more free money.

I’m ecstactic with my acceptances into the University of Iowa and was wondering if anyone have recieved any financial aid offers yet? I’ve been checking online and it states that checking back in a day or two the results will be release, and I think mailed in about 2 weeks.
