Iowa State Honors?

Hello everyone,

Fairly recently, I've been accepted to Iowa State University. Additionally, in my acceptance packet, I was invited to apply for the Honors Program.

The information provided urged me to complete my application as soon as possible, since space fills up as more people apply. However, the application isn't obviously as simple as filling in some biographical information and going on my way. There is an essay involved that I still have yet to write. I would write the essay this week (since I'm on break for school), but I'm not sure how much time I will have to write it.

My question is for anyone who has had experience with the Honors Program. Will I be okay to hold off until the end of December to submit the application? December is incredibly busy for me, and I still have some other college admission applications to write and edit, as well, and I want to prioritize my time during this next month. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Bump…has anyone applied for the Iowa State Honors Program?

Also looking for anyone who has had experience with the honors program and can comment on it.

My son didn’t apply for Honors until the Nth hour… And he still got accepted into the program. That said, I’m sure it would depend on the current years’ applicant pool and your strength as a candidate.

@Femailer - what is your son’s impression of the Honors program?
