Easy Decesion= U of MN

Given that you’re looking for better internship opportunities, I’d say UMinn. Ames is near Des Moines, which seems like a nice city, but you’ll probably have waaay more internship/job opportunities in a city like Minneapolis, which is really the second most major metropolitan area in the Mid-West behind Chicago. UMinn is a step above ISU overall academically, but since your program is ranked higher, that makes it a tougher decision.

Also, there is greater diversity within the UMinn campus and certainly the surrounding city. You will find plenty of American students there (including me ;)) as well as a high number of international students.

But overall, from what you’ve mentioned so far, I think UMinn would be a better fit for you. Good luck!

As a Badger I see UMInn making great improvement in their sports programs. Basketball is on the way up and football should so some real results this Fall. Also ice hockey has a great tradition even if they were a little off lately (what happended ??)

I attend ISU, have a few friends in architecture and several in other programs in the College of Design. Any questions about the town, campus, courses, etc., fire away.
