<p>I have been admitted to Iowa State University. Is it great university and reputed in Engineering? what about campus life and people there</p>

I have a S who is currently a senior at ISU. He is not in engineering, but his roomate is an engineering major. I would say ISU engineering is above average and all major companies recruit on campus. I’ve seen some of your other posts, Ames is a small city, but there are some fun things to do. If you like to go to restaurants there are some nice restaurants. ISU is in division I for NCAA and football (American) and basketball games are a lot of fun. Also there are lots of activities around campus for students, and because you are over 21 you will not have the restrictions undergraduates have going into establishments that serve liquor and might have bands playing. I’ve been to Ames 5 times
and can tell you people are really nice and friendly. Des Moines is a mid size city that could be an alternative but it could be expensive since it is about 1/2 hour by car so you have to include gasoline expense.
