Iowa State vs. IIT

These are my two top schools and i'm in at both and I'm really torn about which to go to.

Pros of ISU:
tons of friends going there
cheap(instate)
tons of majors/opportunities to switch majors easily

Cons:
Big
Hard to communicate with professors
In a crappy location(Ames,Ia...)

Pros of IIt
Its in my birthplace chicago, tons of family
Hands on classes/research opportunities
Closer relationships with professors

Cons:
Harder to switch majors
Expensive
Less well known/reputable then isu?maybe?

This is just my 2cents im kinda looking for someone else with more experiences view on my situation. Thanks alot.

Back in the last century I studied at ISU. Things may have changed since then, but I found that the professors were accessible, IF the students made an effort. Obviously the professor teaching the 300 student lecture component of General Biology isn’t going to get to know every single student by name, but you can bet he/she knows those few who have come to his/her office hours to discuss what they have been learning in class. Just be sure to start developing these relationships early on. If you wait until the end of the term and your only contact is along the line of “Gee Dr. Famous, why did I fail your class?” you aren’t going to be received well.
