Haha yeah, they’re probably like, “This person is so boring,” “I’ve seen that before,” bleh. I wonder what it’d be like to be on an admissions committee though. It sounds fun…
Both my application and my transcript are merely “Received”, huh.

Hmm… I would check often… But like I said, I wouldn’t read too much into it.
@AlmightySadist Where do you see that your transcript is received? Is it the same place as the submissions?
@torquoiseworld
Counseling and transcript stuff is seperated at my school, so in order for my counselor to upload, it would take about half a month before he would officially recieve the documents. So the transcript director just sent it to me through an online service called Parchment.
I then uploaded the unofficial transcript myself, which is why I’m able to see its status. My recommendation, however, I cannot because my teacher uploaded it.
But from my view, it’s in the same area as my regular submission.
@AlmightySadist Thanks so much! I think this explains why I can’t see it.
One week guys!!!
@AlmightySadist Omg so nervous!
@AlmightySadist Ahhhhhhh
My application status FINALLY turned to “In-Progress” yay!
@pielovereternal That means they’re viewing your application now. I’m surprised they’re doing it this late given that they’re releasing decisions in a week?
Maybe I’m wrong, though.
@GrandBudapest Yeah, they finally opened it… I was getting really worried that they had somehow missed my app or something; my Kenyon application was viewed within a week of my submission. Hopefully I still have a chance, heh heh
@pielovereternal @GrandBudapest @AlmightySadist @fitzgirl22 I am an attendee of the Iowa Young Writers’ Studio 2015. I just saw your posts. Good luck for the decision! Don’t get stressed. I know it’s easy to say but just hold on. It’ll be okay. Whatever the decision, just keep writing. If you want to know about IYWS, or Iowa City, feel free to message me. God, this week is bringing back those lovely memories of Iowa. It changed my life. Word. All the best!
Hi:) Were there any international students at IYWS last year?
@VictorianLass What did you study at Iowa? I hope to study fiction and was wondering what kind of styles are emphasized there.
Does anyone if poetry or fiction is more competitive? I’m just overthinking this and getting too anxious.
@GrandBudapest
Oh my god. O.O
I never even thought about that! Who knows, I would assume Fiction.
5 more days!
@VictorianLass
What time did you get your acceptance letter?
Was the decision in the title, email, or portal?
Also, do you have any blogs/posts somewhere so we could have a very general view of what Iowa wants?
Also, was the email/response very general and template-based or more personal?
Hi! I’m just joining in (and I’m as anxious as all of you are), but for those of you who applied to Kenyon’s program: do you know when we will be notified? Kenyon Review’s FAQ for the workshop says late March, but as that’s pretty vague (and I’m pretty anxious) does anyone know around when letters/emails will be sent out?
