I want to go to Grinnell very badly. However, I applied RD b/c my mom and I were scared that I might be bound even if it ended up being way too expensive.

I have lived in Iowa my whole life. The problem is that when I visited this summer, the guide told us that only about 10% of students are from Iowa b/c the want to mantain a diverse student body.

Does anyone know where I could find statistics about applicants based on the state they're from? Does living in Iowa hurt my chances?

Thank you.

According to Cappex, 14% are from Iowa (however, this may just be the freshman class, not the whole student body).

Hello I’m an Iowan from Grinnell and I applied RD this year. Grinnell WANTS Iowans. This year they are offering a minimum of $10,000 scholarship a year to each Iowan accepted. Check out their website and look under “scholarships for Iowans”. If you apply RD you will not be bound in any way to Grinnell. They even have a free application fee if you apply online! You have nothing to lose by applying.

Whoops I meant say that I’m an Iowan in my senior year and I applied RD to Grinnell.
