I don’t mind the iPad, but I could just get a really good netbook for cheaper than $499 with better specs. But the touchscreen technology is pretty unique, but I am probably not going to buy it. I am satisfied with my MacBook Pro.

iSlate would have been a nice name

^ I agree…iPad really is an awkward name. Who doesn’t think of a pad when they hear it? Who?

Furthermore, I don’t understand it, nor do I like it’s appearance. How do you carry it? You can’t put it in your pocket!!!

…Apple can shove their iPad. Stop making things Apple!!!

when i first heard the name, i thought it was someone trying to sound cool by mispronouncing ‘ipod’. then i realized it was just a giant iphone thing…D:

so, what’s the deal? is it like a labtop?

“I thought it was going to be called the iSlate. Which in my personal opinion, sounds a lot cooler.”

it really does, lol :]

Apple really dropped the ball with this one. They had a chance to come out with a great innovative product and they threw a tampon at us. It baffles me that Apple is still being stubborn and won’t support flash, it may be outdated technology but it is still widely used on the web. On top of that you cannot multi-task with the product and there are no USB ports so you are stuck buying stupid adapters from them to fit into their outdated 30-prong plug.

I thought they were actually going to make a tablet laptop. What they’ve made doesn’t really interest me.

I think Apple is getting a little overrated now Don’t get me wrong, I have an Apple laptop, but the iPad and the iPhone with all its apps are getting a little out of control. The iPhone is awesome, but it just has a bunch of apps that will make humankind so helpless in the future.

It’s estimated that sometime in the 2050’s a $1,000 computer will have greater capabilities than the whole human race. You could say that perhaps Apple apps will contribute to this future breakthrough, but they should really be the least of your problems when considering how humans will be made helpless in the future.

For all the people who dislike the iPad and think its a giant iPod touch: yes, it is.

But so what? This is Apple being smart. They’re not targeting the sub-20 hip youngsters anymore. They’re going after the overwhelmed over-40 tech-tarded folks who just simply need a web browser + email. Older people have no idea what to buy when it comes to computers. There are so many options nowadays (netbooks, laptops, desktops, many operating systems, etc. ) and now that Apple has an option, older people will flock to this.

If you hate the iPad, its not meant for you.

Just wait a couple more years and I’m sure Apple will roll out a Macbook version of the tablet based on the OSX operating system. ;)
