<p>Does signal quality degrade without it if you place your hand in the right spot, sure. The entire issue is overblown, IMO.</p>
<p>I have an iPhone 4. I use it with and without a bumper around campus with no problems at all.</p>
<p>people with the iphone 4 report better experiences with calls, not worse. at the least, like the 3GS, but likely slightly better. Most have cases or bumpers, but not sure if it woudl be any different with a naked phone.</p>
<p>Been using it bareback for 3 weeks while I wait for my free case to come. Have had no problems at all, in fact I love it! Only downside, if you’re considering buying it, is it’s a bit fragile. I’ve seen a bunch of videos online of the glass cracking from a few drops, so now I sort of baby it lol.</p>
