I know it's not going to be on the market till Friday, but do any of you know anything about it, other than it's a phone/laptop/iPOD?

It looks pretty cool. Here's a link to some reviews about the phone.

it's definatelty attractive looking, lol. But alot of people seem to have trouble with the virtual keyboard thing...

It's incredibly expensive. Starts off at $499 for the lower memory; $599 for higher. The plans start at $60.

I'd really like one but I opted for some music tech software instead.

I'm still begging my parents for an iPOD, so even if it were cheaper, which it will never be, an iPHONE is out of the question.
and 500 bucks for a phone is INSANE!

I like all of the commercials...they have been doing a lot of advertising!

I saw on TV that 60% of the public (target consumers) already know about it, which means their advertising is pretty good I guess. (I haven't seen any of the ads yet).

I'm getting one. :D... I bought my own laptop back in November, but my parents bought one for my brother when he graduated high school. Since I graduated but already have a laptop, my parents are getting me an iPhone. I can't believe it. lol... its gonna be so hard for me to learn how to type on it tho. I'm really fast on my current cell phone, but I use my thumbs, which apparently doesn't work well on the iPhone.

hmmm, after reading the 11 gotchas (http://tech.msn.com/products/articlepcw.aspx?cp-documentid=5061246) article that the above posted link led me to, i went from being a big supporter of the iPhone, to thinking it'd make more sense to wait.

To me, it sounds like the iPhone is great, but just like the iPod when it came out, if you wait two or three years, the OPTIMIZED version of it will come out, and THAT should be worth the money.

that's just my opinion, though.

I'd totally lose it and then hate myself for it, haha.

My dad said that he would get me a cell phone if it was the iPhone. First, I blinked a lot. Then I said never. I already have an iPod. It's just too much.

Still no cell phone...

I hear that it's getting a lot of great reviews and all they say that its bad is that it only works with AT&T. It does look pretty sick. I would sell my iPod and cellphone and that would prob get me 200 bucks, if i had both of them..

ewwww....the iphone is SO overrated. w/ the lg prada phone, the new samsung touch, htc touch, and others, the iphone isn't the best, or by the huge margin everyone thinks it is. also, the nokia n95 and others are waaaaay better as smartphones, though a little more expensive (heelllo 5mp camera w/ carl zeiss lens....omg omg omg!)

I got the first cell phone with itunes back in 2005, and while it is a great phone, i was kinda mad when i realized that just after i got it, they had already developed a new, better phone with itunes. either way, i personally don't think that it is worth it, seeing as i ended up buying an ipod even after having a cell phone with itunes. i'd go for a cell phone and a ipod seperately, but that's just me.

Good review in the WSJ today. Would love to have, but the exclusive with AT&T makes no sense at all.

being exclusive with one network means that all the profits will go to one company, as opposed to the small profits many companies would gain if it were widely availible, although with the reviews the iPHONE is getting, I don't think it would make a difference.

I just don't get why everyone hates AT&T so much. Everyone says they have terrible service and bad reception, but I've never had that problem and I've been on AT&T for the past 6 years. I always have a strong signal in Chicago and Los Angeles, where I've lived, and every other place I've visited, including several international locations.

Can someone please explain what is so bad about AT&T? lol... I've never understood why people complain about it so much.

the first generation iphone will have problems and it is better to get the upcoming versions of the phone. also, i wouldnt switch my cell phone carrier just to get a phone.

Yeah I would wait, Apple will totally release a cheaper model with more storage in like 4 months.

i agree with ^ and ^^
but I wouldn't know about AT&T services, I've never tried.
