Ipod Nano Vs. Ipod Video

I want an Ipod. I'm currently debating over whether to get a Nano or an Ipod Video.

In your opinion, which do you think is a better value and of better quality?

why?

It really depends on how much music you want to store.

If it's like 30 CDs, then I recommend Nano.

If not, then Video's the way to go.

dont get an ipod period. they are overpriced and break really fast!

i might be bitter cuz mine broke and they dont wanna fix it evenouthgou its techinically still under warranty...$300 down the drain

any other opinions?

Umm I'd get the video - just because of the gigs.
I'm up to the stage of deleting songs to get new songs in.
I personally wouldnt watch videos on a vid ipod but I guess they could come in handy in long car/bus rides... or airplane rides..? I dunno.

But I run fairly regularly and I like how the nano has a 'flashdrive' or whatever. I'm not sure if the video has that but the nano never ever skips on me (unlike my old samsung). And its lightness is a plus too when running.

I've had my nano for just under a year and it hasnt broken down yet. The battery life seems pretty consistent - but I know it's gonna plummet after the 1-year mark.

Everyone says how it's so fragile (the nano) and that it scratches easily and whatnot. But I have one of those flip cases for regular use and silicone cover for running and I hardly have a scratch. Also, my flipcase is pretty cushy... Like, my sis always asks for my ipod and when I'm across the room, I usually throw it to her. And because she's so un-co, she usaully drops it, and it falls on the floor (not carpet). and it works like a charm after the fall. Once, the flipcase actually opened and landed screen-down on our floor, and at first I panicked but the cushyness somehow shielded my screen as well as everything else and it worked ok.
Yeah that story may be pretty useless to you but ..uhh yeah lol

SOrry I cant compare and contrast because I've never owned a ipodvideo.. But it's definetly better than Samsung. If my nano broke, I'd probably get an Ipod Video or one of those Creative Zens.

The nano is built for wear and tear. Thats why it is the only one that works with the running program and doesn't skip. We bought "I tools" software that makes moving music around a snap. Battery life is twice as long. No interest in video.

i ended up getting an ipod video by default b/c the 80 GB are video ipods.

i just wanted a lot of memory because i have a lot of music.

really, though, it depends on how much music you have/want on your ipod, IMHO.

real ipod battery life = 4 hrs

the advertised battery life is like WAYYYYYY over-stated, because no one listens to their music without their back light on, and doesn't flip around the music, and have the volume at like 10%

I get a really long time out of my 30gb's battery. I can usually go for over a week between charges, listening to it for a couple of hours a day (on average). I really wanted a nano, but opted to go with a refurbished video because it was cheaper, had more space and had the option for video. I already had a shuffle and a mini (thought it's battery was dying after 2 years of heavy use), which I still use for times when I don't want to carry my 30 gb (I have waterproof shells for the mini and shuffle, so I can carry them in the rain and the shuffle doesn't have any moving parts or a screen so I cna do just about anything with it and not hurt it.)

I recommend the ipod video over the nano, its more bang for your buck.

Are you kidding me? It's so flimsy. I've heard of so many people just dropping it and it broke.

I have a 30gb video ipod. It's pretty cool. I want the Samsung K5, though. Hopefully I will get that from my dfad for Christmas.

Nano'''''''''''''''''

Once you go iTunes, you can't go back....

You realize that all you have to do is go to the Apple Store and they'll fix or replace it, right? If not, then you have no reason to be bitter, really.

That's the old iPods. Not the new ones. My old one was like that. My Nano goes hours and hours without a recharge. My buddy's iPod video does the same, unless he watches video.

The new ones are made out of the same material that the iPod mini was. It's a lot tougher now ;)

i think ipods are overrated and high priced
