In some other post I told my stories of my creative jukebox 3 breaking. The headphones jack fell inside of the player. My zen died too. The click wheel stopped working rendering it utterly useless. Creative wanted 300 to fix each of them. I got an iPod. It works so much more smoothely. Get one if you care at all about having it for more than a year.

My dad had an archos... it took 2 seconds to load a song. That SUCKS. I hated the darn thing, navigation was nearly impossible.

My creative zen micro died after 5 months usage. It just wouldn't shut down. Also, when it was playing, after 20 minutes it would just start buzzing. I don't know if it's just mine that does this, but it sucks.

As I said, the iPod is great at what it was designed to do. But I'd rather not see people buy a trendy device in favor of one they'll still be using in a few years, for whatever purpose.

@xokandykyssesox: Browse the iPodLounge forums and you'll see that manufacturing errors exist. They're a fact of the industry. You'll see that entire lines of the iPod have faulty headphone jacks, hold switches, and playback.

I know that Creative is much more notorious for stuff breaking. So don't even try that. The only reason it might appear that iPods have more problems, is that they have an actual community where people talk about them... Creative doesn't.

Mind you, I like my Audigy ZS sound card and speakers on my computer, but their MP3 players suck badly.
