It depends on how much you're into music. People that only have 200 songs clearly aren't that devoted. I would not be able to survive on a mini. I have about 1700 songs on mine right now and I'm obviously still adding stuff. I know people that have over 10,000 songs, so it really depends on how much you think you'll need.

The only problem is that the ipod is better than any of the iriver offerings.

The old creative products (Jukebox III) were very good from a technical and audio standpoint and should be available at a good price if you can stand the terrible interface and the large size.

even though the mini is cheaper, id say go with the the 20g one. i know that its more expensive but the number of songs you can put on it makes it worth the price. i have the 20g, and the songs get filled up easily.

um...its stupid to buy iPODs just because everyone has one....or not to buy it only because everyone has one and you want to be "unique"...I hate to tell u this, but you are not unique....someone also has an iriver, or a creative zen, etc.....and no we are not posers......being poser means that you are pretending to be something your not just to make urself look cool....we buy iPODs because we have heard great things about them, and we want a good mp3 player at a good price.....

I bought an iPOD because I saw that they are good, and dependable. Also, i have seen other iPODs b/c a lot of my friends have them, and so I know how they work and what they can do, etc......

get a regular iPOD dude...the curvy lines, the chique, sterile white color and that cool color screen (i have a perdy iPOD photo) is unbeatable..mmm i wish i could make love to my iPOD, and i know quite a few people who feel the same way :)
