I have decided to purchase an ipod for college, but I really dont know which one to buy. Should I, perhaps, get a different brand? Anyway, I have to choose between a shuffle, mini, photo, H2, etc. I want one that will last for a long time, so I think I have knocked the shuffle and mini out of the way. Do you think I should wait until graduation in June, or buy it right now.

Personally, I like the Ipod 30 GB photo, cause i like the color!

For those of you who dont prefer Ipods - what brand would you recommend?

it depends on how many albums you own and adjust the size accordingly.

For example, I have a 20 GB ipod, filled to the brim.

I got one that's the 40GB "older" orig. thing that's engraved w. "Penn Huntsman '09" (guess for what occasion I got that for =)). Personally, it all depends on how much music you wanna put in there. I have about 20+ GBs loaded up. If you wanna go for the look, go for the "stylish" Ipods; but if you wanna carry around a bundle of songs, get the 40GB.

I have friends who are not that extreme w. their music collection who ended up buying the Dell DJ. Another friend bought Creative, but he returned it, and got the 40GB Ipod...he LOVES his Ipod now. It's like his pet.

Congrats on Huntsman, Catch-22. I've got a friend who got Huntsman too.

I love my iPod...I got it free with my Powerbook. I'm using the 20GB one and I still have plenty of space to go. I'm planning to get iPod Photo when it gets thinner.

Sony and Creative also have their respective MP3 hard-disk players. Some people really like Creative's Zen Micro.

How did you get your free Ipod from your purchase of a powerbook? Yea, I was looking at "Creative" Ipods - they seem to be rated high...

Some back-to-school promotion in August.

i have a 30GB photos...its good...and i thought that the photo sharing part would be lame, but its kinda cool to put some pics on cuz everyone seems to find pictures interestinggg

but i got my ipod photo for 230 instead of 350, so I guess that is why i bought it. i think the 30gb is the best though, and then the 20gb or the 18 hour battery life mini

I love my iPod. I have a 40 gb 4th generation, which I believe has been discontinued with the addition of the 30 gb iPod photo. But mine is almost completely full. Unless you need it right now, I would probably wait for a few months to buy one, because more than likely there will be a new one out by then.

shostakovich, where did you find the ipod photo for 230 instead of 350?

i used craigslist.org ...some guy received an extra one so he was selling it
