For those of you who have taken an IQ test, what is your IQ score? Also state the standard deviation if you know, (for IQ, they usually use either 15, 16, or 24. standard deviation of 15 gives the highest numerical score for IQ), since the score changes a lot according to it.

Just curious, cuz everyone on this website seems like the stars of their cities/regions.

I'll post mine after some people post theirs..haha =P

lol. no response yet. im actually kind of surprised. I assumed that with a group of such studious students, IQ would interest a lot of people hahaha. I guess not =P

I think the lack of interest in IQ here is because IQ treats intelligence as a quantifiable substance: Person X has 150 intelligence points, while Person Y has 134, so therefore Person X is intellectually superior. Not only is it misleading, but it also de-romanticizes the idea of the unlimited and immeasurable power of one's mind.

never taken one.. i'm convinced that no test--even taking the standard deviation into account--can predict intelligence. if anything, it demonstrates how well you took the test. and that's all.

I took an online one for the heck of it. I don't know how accurate the online ones are compared to the actual IQ Test but for what it's worth, I got a 164 when I was 14.

I agree that these tests are poor indicators of one's true intelligence. There's more to intelligence than knowing how many straight lines it takes to divide an regular ocatagon into eight identical triangles. True intelligence transcends the realm of standardized testing.

I took an online one, but my school or state or something doesn't let us know the results until we're 18 (something about classes and such). They don't administer them anymore, but they used.

online ones arent accurate...considering only 1% of the population is over 150 (almost everyone at my school that took an online one got in the 140s 150s)

If you really want to have fun, get some of those books put out by Mensa and do the questions...if you think you are smart, this will test your brain.

Ours sits in the bathroom as a little fun reading...

I've taken two this past year. On one, which I thought was a phoney, I scored a 124. On the second, more professionaly designed, 'real' one I made a 153. I think IQ is a bad attempt to measure one's intelligance and doesn't admit any factors that could tarnish the results. I don't think there will ever be a definite perfect test to measure knowledge. I hope there never is. IQ is meant to measure how much learning capacity someone has not necessarily how smart that person is. Plus most of the questions are: O_o anyways. How high does it go, 180-ish?

Haven't got a clue what my IQ is, and I don't particularly want to know either. I don't believe that intelligence should be reduced to a number.

Of course, you would also need to share the name and scale of the test, the age you took it at, whether it was your first time, whether you were informed you were taking an IQ test, and a host of other things that are directly connected to performance.
