IR at AU

Any good reasons for considering AU over GW for IR major if cost is not an issue (more scholarship $$ at GW makes family contribution abut the same at either school)?

TOP 20 UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS Rank School Percent*
1 Harvard University 48
2 Princeton University 46
3 Stanford University 30
4 Georgetown University 28
5 Columbia University 28
6 Yale University 23
7 University of Chicago 21
8 University of California, Berkeley 12
9 Dartmouth College 11
10 George Washington University 10
11 American University 10

either one is really good for ir!

i don't believe the "more money at GW" levels out its exhorbitant cost, unless you're assured of an honors program offer, which can never be guaranteed. some rank AU academics more substantial/higher, than GW's in general. smaller classes, and totally different campus. close to identical overall.

COMom~ i may have misread your post...it seems you know you have more money for GW. well, the rest of what i said holds...AU has a slight edge over GW academically, huge amount of study-abroad options, small classes, fewer taught by TAs, safer rating, in a gorgeous part of DC(Embassy Row), with no need of security guards stationed at the dorm entrances.

"...AU has a slight edge over GW academically..."

Just curious - what are you basing this statement on?

Princeton Review ratings, smaller class sizes, fewer(no) TAs, greater accessability of professors, slightly higher admissions requirements, etc.
