I plan to major in IR and right now the three cities I'm looking at with colleges I want to go to are NYC, DC and Boston. I know that there will be great internship opportunities for IR in NYC, but what about in Boston?

To clarify: Would going to Boston mean fewer good IR internships?

You can still get summer internships in NYC even if you go to school in Boston.

And I feel like most of the IR stuff would be in DC not NY.

There is probably a lot of recruiting going on at any well-known IR school, so I wouldn’t let the school’s location be a huge deterrent.
Though being in DC would seem to have advantages for an IR student beyond the ease of applying for internships. At least GWU does like to advertise that - [Prospective Students - The Elliott School of International Affairs](http://elliott.gwu.edu/prospective/)
