Yo. I'm applying to a bunch of UCs/Private schools. I'm a philosophy major. There will only be two courses of philosophy for me that are offered next quarter. But I will be taking 38 units. Here are the unit breakdowns:

Math1d/discrete Math: 10 units
2 Philosophy classes: 8 units
Sociology classes: 8 units
Polisci classes: 8
Humanities class: 4

Will taking all these other extraneous classes hurt my chances for private schools? I'm taking them cuz they seem interesting and I don't have anything else really to do. What about UCs? Thanks.

I had this problem as well, I ran out of classes to take at my community college, at least I thought I did. I checked with the schools I applied to, and they sent me the course schedule their students usually follow. So, now I have all my electives/humanities/math/social science/language creidts satisified so I will just start with the core nursing classes next fall wherever I end up. While you may think they're useless..they may not be!
