I have a question about subliminal language tapes. Y'know, tapes that you listen to whilst sleeping, and supposedly enable you to speak the language efficiently over the course of a few months. Well, do they actually work? Are these tapes available at a major retail store? In 6 months I'm headed off to France, and I know not a word of French besides the popular phrases.

Well, I listen to economics tapes to go to bed. I don't think I remember anything duing the 2nd half because I'm knocked out.

I listen to Chinese music when I sleep. I don't think my Chinese (or music) skills have improved because of it.

If that were true I'd know every word to every song on my iPod.

If that were ALSO true a LOT more people would take advantage of it. People are not failing Spanish because those tapes work.

Not exactly the same thing but...

interesting nonetheless.

I think it would depend on what kind of sleeper you are. But they most likely don't work.

My psychology teacher taught us that those do not actually work, but I forgot why.

anyone read flowers for algernon?

YES! The ending was kinda sad...why'd the mouse have to die?

to show that his mind really was deteriorating or something like that...

LOVED Flowers for Algernon. Beautiful story. We watched the film too. The guy was so sweet.

it is scientifically proven that they do NOT work...get off your butt and actually study!!!
