IRS data retrieval date??

One school is asking when we did the IRS data retrieval. I don’t remember!! Where can I find that info? We made so many corrections to the FAFSA, and I don’t see that info on any of the emails. I think we did the data retrieval towards the end of February, but…

Help, please!

If you used the DRT successfully, the school should be able to see the date when that specific correction was processed. Why do they need to know the specific date? Is it the financial aid office asking?

Was using the DRT the last update you made? If you login to the fafsa on the right it gives the submitted and processed date of the original submission and also those dates for the latest correction. Also you can click on view correction history and see those dates.

Yes, this is for a school’s f aid office. I’ll try checking on correction history; I didn’t do that yet. Thanks!

FYI, we did DRT probably around Feb 25, and it shows as having been done. I just didn’t find the date. I’ll go log in now.

Hm, I checked, but don’t see the date. Guess I’ll call FAFSA.

I guess what I am getting at is why the school needs the specific date from you. What purpose would that serve for them, if they have the access to view the correction and the date it was made?

I have no idea! The school picked our f info to be scrutinized more thoroughly, and I need to mail them four documents, one of which has that question. I’m live chatting with fafsa now.

Even if you have an estimated date, I am not sure how you could be penalized (or if there would be any issues) if you were a few days off.

Who knows? At any rate, FAFSA was able to give me the date of the first time I used the DRT, so I’m going with that!

Don’t you (or the student) receive a confirmation e-mail whenever there is a change made in FAFSA?

Yes, but nowhere on any of the emails does it say the DRT was submitted or used. (We have a lot of emails from FAFSA, by the way, because my son applied for more than 20 schools and we made corrections once we submitted our taxes).
