My accountant just emailed me our 2010 tax return with "IRS DELAYED" stamped on every page. Due to a snafu in the government it can not be filed yet, but it done and we can sign it. I am preparing our package for IDOC now and want to mail it tomorrow. Does anyone think the DELAYED stamp will make a difference? I'm sure everyone is in the position, but the stamp makes it seem like the return isn't final. I guess I could just print out blank forms and hand-write all the numbers back in, but it is time consuming, especially since I'm paying an accountant to do this work already.

I would call the accountant’s office and tell them you need a clean copy emailed asap!

Good Lord, don’t ever e-Mail a tax return!

It was sent via a secured password-protected pdf file.

I would ask for a clean copy that you can send to the schools, as long as it is “finalized” and just waiting for the IRS to begin accepting them. We do our own taxes, and I printed and signed a copy and sent mine off to IDOC and another school even though I cannot submit it to the IRS yet.
