IRS transcript question

Has anyone ever ordered the IRS transcript? One of our possible colleges has asked us to submit it.

Does it take a long time to receive?

You can order it on-line, it is very simple:

[Order a Transcript](Get Transcript | Internal Revenue Service)

It takes about 2 weeks, but if you need it for 2012, you will have to wait until the IRS processes your return, which can take several weeks after you file.

You can have it faxed to you immediately. You need to hit 0 over & over until you get a live customer service agent. Tell him/her you would like to have it faxed. You can’t send it to an unsecured fax - no Office Max or drug store fax facilities. The person whose return is being requested must ask (student can’t ask for parent; parent can’t ask for student). At least, you could do that a couple years ago - haven’t known anyone who has tried recently.
