Irvine/Davis TAG

Do you have to finish all of your major prereqs for Irvine and/or Davis TAGs? I think I'll have all of them done but one class (a language - level 6).

I have all of the general requirements covered though. I'd ask my school's transfer center but school is half an hour away from my house and it's a hassle to go to them and ask such a simple question -- (they keep trying to persuade me to come to campus to ask my questions and don't really answer my questions when I email them).

Thank you in advance if you can help! :)

Are you taking the language class this semester? If not I don’t think it will matter, honestly. As long as you have everything done you should be able to sign a TAG with both schools.

Well as an English major, for Irvine I need to go up to level 6. I’ll only be done with Spanish 3 by the end of Fall quarter.

Irvine was a bit tougher/stricter with requirements for TAG than Davis. I think, however, they cared more about the math requirement being complete (before fall). I think if you take those classes in fall and spring and put those in on your grade update in January (on the UC app site) then you should be fine. When you TAG for a specific major they want to make sure all of your math is out of the way (for Liberal Art/Humanities/Social Science majors) don’t know what they want in the way of GE for engineering/science. When they accept your TAG application they give you a list of classes you have to take in order to keep your TAG spot. In your case, it might be the language classes.

Don’t take my word for it. This is my own experience. I wasn’t able to TAG into Irvine because I didn’t have my math complete that fall. I DID get accepted to Irvine when I applied in the general pool though. Really, TAG is good for a back up but you can probably get accepted just applying regularly.
