Last name starts with "T".

I have a 3.92 overall GPA and I'm taking 3 out of 4 (or 5) of my major prerequisites this semester, haha. But then again, it's philosophy.

I think they probably put decisions in batches and release them over time, even though they may be ready beforehand.

That's probably it, gabe42. Still kind of suprised that I got the letter so quickly though. Well, everything in SoCal gets to you within a day or so anyway (so that means they must have sent it on the 27 or 28th of February!).

When is it postmarked?

Haha, I actually checked before I made that post just now. No postmark and no date on the letter!

I'm sure they didn't have to mull over my application or anything. They probably send all the acceptance/rejection letters for the people with non-impacted/easy majors first to get it over with.

so, any new developments?

My friend is applying to UCI and he said that transfer decisions start april 1st?!

Obviously they started March 1, if sarcasmgirl received her's. The website will update again tomorrow morning, and we'll see if anyone else on here gets a decision.

Who here wants to attend Irvine if accepted?

"Who here wants to attend Irvine if accepted?"

I'll "want" to if I'm not accepted at UCLA or Berkeley. :)

LOL, thats another way of putting it.
what about SD?

"what about SD?"

I don't know. For some reason, it might be better to go to Irvine because I don't really like UCSD aside from it's scenic landscapes! Most of what I know about UCSD is hearsay (UCSD being boring that is). Which schools did you apply to, hobofromdowntown?

If you're interested in philosophy of science, UCSD might be the place for you sarcasmgirl (as opposed to UCI).

SD, LA, CAL, USC

i like SD but they do not have my major (Business) however, they do have a top notch economics program that i would be interested in.

"If you're interested in philosophy of science, UCSD might be the place for you sarcasmgirl (as opposed to UCI)."

Oh, I'm not sure what I'm interested in. I'm rather disappasionate about everything in general, even philosophy now. Although I would say I picked up logic pretty decently.

What are you mostly interested in within philosophy, gabew42?

Hmmm. My last name starts with a "T" as well. Maybe I got an acceptance letter today! Although, instead of a philosophy major I am a poli sci major.

Same with UCLA. My brother really wanted to go to UCLA as a business major but had to settle for economics!

hobofromdt, I think USC would be your best bet if you plan to major in something business related. You can easily make connections there which is vital for any business major.

"Hmmm. The last name start with a "T" as well. Maybe I got an acceptance letter today! Although, instead of a philosophy major I am a poli sci major."

I'm too lazy to check myself, but how impacted (or not-impacted is the political science major compared to philosophy?

"What are you mostly interested in within philosophy, gabew42?"

Philosophy of mind annnd lots of other areas.

"Oh, I'm not sure what I'm interested in. I'm rather disappasionate about everything in general, even philosophy now. Although I would say I picked up logic pretty decently."

That's why they want applicants who have, at the least, taken some courses in their intended major; otherwise, there's a good chance the applicant could suck at the major or end up hating it and want/have to change.

UCLA has business economics which is very comparable to USC's Marshall even though it's not a "business" major. Also, sarcasmgirl sound like me =) apathetic to almost everything hehe
