I am international, and yea i know how the SAT works and such, but I am kinda confused on what a score of 2240 would get me? I know percentages needed for canadian schools but what is needed for some of the better US schools.

Like would you retake a 2240 (800 math, 750 writing, 690 reading)

It is quite a good score, but if you have the chance to retake it, why not? You have the chance for improving, so it seems as though only a positive outcome good arise from taking them again. Pick up a couple of books, such as the Blue Book, take the practice tests, thoroughly analyze your answers you get wrong and right, whilst studying up on vocab, and I am sure you will do even better.

Good work on your score and good luck if you choose to take it again.

O_O woah, you have exactly the same scores as me, except reversed for reading and writing.
I think it’s only worth it if you’re applying to some college that really cares about the 690. Otherwise, forget it. It’s good enough.

It depends on that if you want a FA or not.If you want to have veery good chances of getting a full FA package ,you should aim for 2300.I dont say u wont get that FA package with your current score ,but who knows
Your scores are good enough but you definitely can improve your WR by 30 points and CR by 40-50
Why n0t :p

2,240 = The number of people who are crying right now and wishing they were you. Maybe tack another zero on the end of that.

I’m trying to use it to help me play baseball at an Ivy League school. I’ve gotten some interest from some schools like U of Chicago and a couple letters from University of Arizona but my dream is to play for a school like Columbia or Harvard. Say baseball didn’t work out, would a 2240 give me a shot at the ivies and at MIT Caltech JHU, etc. I know it’s not unreal but would it at least give me a chance?

You probably don’t get letters for baseball form Harvard/Columbia because they don’t recruit athletes as aggressively as Div I schools. Contact the coaches there and send them tapes or info about yourself, and if they want you, you’re golden.
