How good is 26 as a composite score?

its 86th percentile. not bad - what schools are u looking in?

I'd say a 26 is a good score for a majority of the schools in this country. Only at the top would it be considered mediocre.

26 is good score for what specific school?

Is a 25 good for University of Maryland - College Park/ Syracuse/Rutgers - New Brunswick/Boston University???

Here on CC, 26 is a bad score because majority of the ppl here are over-achievers and are gunning for the top schools. But compared to the rest, 26 is a good score. A lot of the colleges start offering scholarships from 26+. Obviously, a score in the 20s wouldn't cut it in the Ivy Leagues but it's a good enough score for most colleges.

Which school are you applying to?

Is 31 a good score for University of Maryland - College Park?

@Slowpoke: 25 is pretty low for UMCP and BU. And I am not familiar with Syracuse and Rutgers - New Brunswick, sorry.

@stone_cutter: 31 would more than suffice UMCP. I would aim higher unless UMCP is where you really want to go.

I also sent my SAT score to UMCP, which was a 1860 (CR: 580, M: 650, W: 630). Will my ACT score make up for that?

Well, I don't know why you sent your SAT score even though you got a higher score on your ACT but I am sure you'll be fine since they will only care about your highest score. Good luck.

1860 if converted to sat.. not bad

The ACT range at Syracuse is 24-29, so you are near the midpoint for that college. However, the data is a year or two old, so 'Cuse's numbers might increase by next year.
