Is 3.7 uw too low?

ive been looking through the ED results from various schools, and since brown would be one of my top choices i decided to post here.if your SATs are in the middle 50% percentile, you haev so so ECs, and dont have URM status or anyting, will they even consider a 3.7 unweighted GPA? to me it seems good, but through every ED thread i looked it was like all 4s and then when i saw a 3.6 it was a urm or athelete…
my GPA looks someting like this:
freshman 3.5 uw 3.55 weighted
sophomore 3.9 uw 4.3 weighted
junior (predictions based on now) 3.7 uw 4.1 weighted

is that just too low or am i still in fair shape? not that it will stop me from applying, im just worried :</p>

3.7 is fine, worry more about test scores.

ok good, its just intimidating seeing so many 4.0s applying y ou know?

a 3.7 with a 2200+ SAT is golden. Is 3.7 your composite gpa?

SAT Reasoning Verbal: 650 - 760
SAT Reasoning Math: 660 - 760

thats their middle 50% percentile...would a 2000-2100 be too low coupled with the 3.7 uw ~4 weighted

i just took SATs for first time and i think i mightve only gotten like a 2050...hopefully i can bring that up with some studying but who knows...im so worried about college its lke sapping the fun out of my life!

Well, you have to "make up" for the 3.7. What school are you aiming for?

international relations major tot he college...whats the best way to bring up SAT scores? just get the blue book and do practice tests? and i dont even know what my score is, i couldve done better since i have no basis on knowing so who knows until the 13th...but i can def retake them to aim higher

Yeah, blue book is a must.

ok i made the mistake of getting barrons book and didnt learn much...so you think 2200 and 3.7 uw 4.0 weighted i have a chance (taking nothing else into consideration)?

Yeah, but a higher weighted gpa is always better i guess. Does you school lack AP classes?

yeah kinad, next yaer im gonna take 5 but last year i could only take one and only 2 this year

Yeah, a 3.7 isnt bad at all, unless your rank is below top 10%.

i believe i am in the top 10% but we dont rank so im not positive

well, i hope you're in fair shape to apply because my cumulative gpa is like a 3.6/3.7 uw :(

anyways, good luck!!

you're fine. make sure you have good/great extracurriculars. I only had a 3.7 uw gpa and not so great SAT and a 31 ACT.. there really is no formula...

3.7 is fine and your test scores are also fine, but since neither one is amazing, you'd probably have to have some amazing extracurriculars or talents (or write some pretty awesome essays) to get in.

well i have a few extracurriculars but nothing really special, my only unique thing is that im a teachers assistant at my synogouge hebrew school and at the end of this year will be a certified religious school teacher.

if i were to apply to say brown, columbia, georgetown, tufts, johns hopkins, would i have a fair chance of getting in at least one of them?

You might, but without anything to make you stand out (amazing grades / scores / extracurriculars / particular passions) then your chances aren't particularly great for any of them. You need a safety -- have you thought about schools like NYU, GW, or U Michigan?

i kinda wanted a more campus feel rather than such an urban school likw NYU or GW...idk. i was thinking about american. it just seems like you get less respect if you go to a lesser university

how about University of Maryland @ College Park as a safety? I don't know if the campus is traditional or what (I think it is), but it's still a fairly good uni and you could get in with a 3.7 uw easily. only problem is I don't know if their International Relations program is that good... Gtown is the best for that, IMO.
