Is 3 subjects with 800 always better than 2 subjects with 800?

Is 3 subjects with 800 always better than 2 subjects with 800?

Um…yes. I would say quality over quantity but 3 800s is both better in terms of quality and quantity than 2 800s. I don’t really get why you asked that question…

Lol this is such a CC thread.

In general I would say yes, however you could argue some unfair cases:

 1. A person taking an SAT subject in their native language
 2. A person taking SAT subjects in similar subjects (MathII/MathI/Physics)

So like, a person from France taking the French Subject Test and Math I / Math II will most likely not impress an admissions committee as much as someone who takes two different subjects (Chemistry/US History…for example).

Yes (10 char)

agree with everything rob22 said!

3 is usually > 2

but yeah rob22 gives some exceptions

I wouldn’t say taking Math and Physics are taking “similar” subject tests, the Physics SAT II is far more conceptual (you really have to understand specific non-mathematic concepts in Physics to perform well on it). As far as Math I and II, obv, they are almost identical if both are taken.
