Is 3 years of a Foreign Language required?

I would love to go to Providence College. It is probably my top pick. Just applied last week for early action but am panicking that I will get rejected Becuase I only took two years of Spanish. Spanish was really hard for me, was getting a 70 and decided to drop it so it didn’t affect my gpa anymore. I went onto the Providence College website and it said that “3 years of a foreign language is required”. Would I get denied for only having 2 or will the admission counclers overlook that?

According to S18’s GC, it is recommended but not required. He looked into this bc he did drop language senior year to take another AP. I found this in application guide:

The Committee on Admission recommends that an applicant to
Providence College take a minimum of 17 academic courses in
high school, including:
 four years of English,
 four years of mathematics,
 three years of one foreign language,
 three years of science with at least two years of
laboratory courses,
 two years of social studies, and
 an additional unit in any subject which meets
graduation requirements.
Students are strongly encouraged to take four years of all
academic disciplines.
