Is 6 days too short...

Hypothetical question:

To ask for a letter of recommendation?

If you gave a teacher the required materials (common app papers, a resume, etc) a month in advance and they agreed to write you a letter of recommendation and somehow (even with weekly reminders) forgot to write a letter of recommendation for colleges you are applying to and just emailed you now asking what you want to do, is it too short of a time for him to write one and submit it after the ED deadline and hope they don't mind?

Should you ask another teacher instead of the one that had forgotten, but probably have it written in bad quality due to it being crammed?

Would just having one letter of recommendation be sufficient for applying to a college?

Would having two letters, but one that was written quickly be better?

Would this hurt my FRIENDS chances? My friend is pretty ****ed off right now after just hearing about this from the teacher, would you advise him to look for a new teacher on monday or just settle with one, or not have this one at all?

Thanks..
