Is 740 good enough? My superscore is only 2240, so I want to know if it’s even worth it. I only have 700 Math, but am applying to something completely unrelated to math. Are my scores decent? Thanks…

…

Yes.

[Brown Admission: Facts & Figures](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

67.9% of the Class of 2013 had critical reading scores of 740 or less.

thanks. sorry, i know it’s an annoying question.

…

Don’t worry, it’s a legit question due to anxiety and Brown is an Ivy League school that’s very selective. It’s normal to be anxious and doubtful of yourself.

I think it’s a GREAT score for ANY ivy league. A 2240 is in the range of many of the greatest schools. But keep in mind that a lot of the more selective colleges (like Yale and Stanford) do not superscore…

I’d be more worried about a 700 in math even though that’s a good score too.

Looking at past posts on decision threads for Brown, I saw people get in with SAT sections scores in the 600s.

Thanks. Yeah, I was expecting a better math score, but at least I’m not majoring in science or math. I really don’t think I’ll get into Brown, but it’s worth a shot. Good luck with your apps.
