I took the SATs in the summer and got a 2160 (670cr, 730m, 760w)

But I don't know if it's any good as I live in a rather "unsmart" neighborhood which seems to praise the score.
I need real opinions from college skeptics, is my 2160 worth anything?

Should I retake the SAT or take the ACT for a higher score??

Good scores but why not give it anothr try or try the ACT as you are competing against those who took multiple tests. Also most scores go up 100 points between summer and fall(old test so that must be 150 I would guess) Congratulations on a good score , I'd encourage my kids to do it again but it is your call and depends on your list of schools

lol it's really hard when people ask questions like "is my gpa good enough" "is my SAT score good enough"... good enough for what? Who are we comparing you to?
However, not to be too unhelpful, I guess I would say a 2160 would be good enough for colleges up to the top 10 universities (that is to say a 2160 is around their mid-range SAT score).

it is really gud but the prob is that since writing scores are not that imp this year.. the score boils down to 1400/1600 which is average.. top 10 colleges would want a min 1450/1600 even in new sat test

what a low score... I can't believe you got something like that! What a disgrace!

LOL... just kidding. I think that's an excellent score. I would retake the SAT because you have the potential to beat 2200 which will look even more impressive.

Seriously, it depends on which schools you're aiming for. If you're looking into HYP (etc), you'll want to retake it (keep in mind that the writing section will not be stressed as much as CR and math, so your score on the old scale is 1400, which is about average). If you're looking into anything below HYP-level schools, your score is solid.

EDIT: Since you haven't taken SAT II's, prep like hell for those first. If you have more time later, consider retaking the SAT. Then again, you live in Alaska, so...
