Is a 2290 good enough for an Ivy school, or should I take it again?

Hey guys, I took the SAT 1 in May 2013 and I got the score 2290. I'm thinking about applying to maybe a couple of Ivies. Do you think it's a safe score, considering its closeness to 2300, or should I take it again in October?

It’s good enough.

no you shouldn’t.

Okay thanks. It’s just such an awkward score.

What’s the breakdown? M: 800, W:800, CR: 690 = retake. But if you’re rocking a 760, 760, 770, that’s plenty good.

Retake it. You’ll need at least 2410.

CR: 750, M: 800, W: 740. Is that a solid breakdown? I feel like I could improve a lot in writing. And you’re funny drexter.

That’s a perfectly good score for Ivies. Getting a better score wouldn’t be of much help.

Don’t bother, try to get awesome score on subject tests instead

How many times have you taken it? If this was your first, def take it again, you’ll improve a lot

Spend your time on things that make your application truly stand out. Admissions officers want to admit people, not numbers.

Is this another ■■■■■ post? Move on to better things in life- there is a lot more to college admissions than a phenomenal test score.

Thank you guys for the suggestions! This was my first time taking it, so I think I’ll take it just one more time. I already took and did well on my subject tests.

this better be a ■■■■■.

dude. DUDE. don’t do it. seriously, you’re well into the 2200+ realm, getting a higher score really isn’t going to help you. devote your time to better things.

“A for Admission” is seriously outdated. That’s been discussed on CC before

Depends on which ivies and if you’re public/private and if you’re asian/non-asian. If you’re a public school asian going for HYP go for that 2350+. If you’re going for lower tier ivies what you have is acceptable but since it’s your first time and you don’t mind it’s worth a shot going for a higher score. But do of course focus on other things if your application is weaker in other areas.
