I just got a 30 on my ACT and I was wondering if that is good enough or not? I had a 34 on reading, 32 on math, 27 on science and 25 on English. I had heard that the 2 most important scores were English and math so should I retake my ACT purely for improving my English score?

If you’re thinking you can do better than do better. I got in with a 29 but my sub-scores were a little more balanced (I only had 26 English but I applied to Engineering).

I was looking at a U of M flyer a month or two ago and it said that the middle 50% of students have a 28-32, so you are right in the middle. Your GPA is pretty good and you are in state, so I think you have a very good chance as long as you have decent EC and a pretty good course load. You do have a wide discrempancy between scores, so if you think you can raise them I would recommend doing that. Retaking the ACT might also depend on what you are planning to go into. Good Luck with everything! :)

My cousin got in with a 30 composite. But then again, he was REALLY involved in everything at school (president, homecoming king, football team) and probably had a decent GPA.

is the 3.78 u of m recalculated? either way i’m sure your fine with a 30

if you’re still a junior you might want to consider more AP classes, i think (not to be quoted) u of m average is 4 or 5
with good essays and recs, you should be in easy

I am international (canada) and I applied to UM for college of LSA undecided with two 26 ACT’s (20/25 english, 29/29 math, 25/25 science, 29/25 reading) and didn’t get in.
