I’m starting to prep for the exam in computer science and was wondering if anyone has taken it and made a 4/5. I don’t really know how to prepare for the test. All I’m doing right now is reading through some prep books. I don’t really know the format of the exam either and suck at the frq’s. Is it possible for me to still do well on the test? Does anyone have any tips for the free response and MC sections?
Hey, just consulted with my son, who got a 5, as did several of his friends, but they had a prep class at their high school. He wants to know what kind of problems you’re having with the FRQs. Do you have trouble understanding the task, does your code not work, or what?
I’m also wondering why the prep book(s) you’re using don’t make the format of the exam clear.
@GeekMomPA I just don’t understand the language used in the questions and make a whole bunch of mistakes when trying to write out a solution. It’s kind of intimidating trying to pull the information out of the long paragraphs and coming up with a solution that has multiple approaches. Does your son have like a checklist of things to do/remember before writing out lines of code? This is really frustrating because I understand how the books (Barron’s/Litvin’s) explain each concept. I just fail to use them at the right time and/or in the right way.
