Is a 700 math below the median for columbia?

Enough to hurt my non URM chances?

I don't think it's enough to hurt you too much if you've got everything else. I had a 700 m and I even applied for engineering as an RD but I still got in. Oh, and I'm definitely not an URM, I'm asian.

thank you!

Based on last year's figures, a 710 was the median math SAT 1 score, so 700 ia just a hair below that. My son got into CC ED with a 700 Math, 750 Verbal, so I wouldn't worry-good luck!

I got 700m, 800v and got in.

hopefully it will be the same for me :)

700 is actually perfect. If you are planning to take the sats again, shoot for a 750. However, if you are a URM, then I wouldn't worry about. Good luck!

But what else did your son have columbiamom?

no, I'm not going to take it again, after much thinking... my friend (who got into harvard with her 1500 and is also white & upper middle class) convinced me not to. It won't make a difference, despite what all obsessive compulsive people say on CC and otherwise. After a composite of 1490 or 1500 it does not matter. Why not spend those 5 hours testing and many hours studying, doing something else like community service?

Not sure what you mean by what else?....
