Is a 710 on SAT Math bad?

Ok so I took the Math 2 subject test and got a 710 on it. Is it worth sending it to colleges? I think the national average is like 686 or something so I didn’t do that great. Plus I only scored better than about 55% of the country or something. Is it worth it? The colleges I’m thinking of don’t require SAT Subject Tests but I want to major in engineering so will it help, hurt, or not affect my chances?

Depends where you are trying to go. But if its a top school then no its not worth it if you have others you can send.

If you’re applying to engineering, then I think many schools recommend subject tests. 710 Math II is not so great so I would recommend that you retake it as many engineering schools like to see high SAT Math 2 and SAT Physics grades.

thanks for all the responses, but I don’t think I have time to retake. I’m applying to a lot of schools that have rolling admissions and I heard that the earlier you apply the better, so I don’t know… maybe I can take it again for the colleges that I’m applying to regular. I heard some colleges let you place out of a math course if you got above like a 550 on math 2. is that true?

I think they only place you out of a Math course if you do well enough on an AP Math Test.

But even if they do that based on a SAT Subject Test score, a 550 on the Math 2 is way too low.
