Is a 720 subject test good enough to send?

Hi! I got a 720 on my subject test in Literature, and I just was wondering if it’s good enough to send, or if I should just not send it at all.

The schools I wanted to send it to were UNC and Emory; I’m applying to the first as a journalism major and the second as an English major–I’m also upper middle class, so I figured I should send the score because it 1. aligns with my majors and 2. I could afford to take it.

BUT, I worry that it’s not a strong enough score and may actually end up hurting me. I got a 36 and a 36 on the English and Reading portions of the ACT, so I feel like my ability to perform well on English-related stuff shows through there, but I still don’t know if I should also send this SAT II or just hold off. Thank you!!!

Yes, 720 is a good score and if you’d like to send that’s fine.

Rule of thumb I’ve heard is to send anything 700+ to most schools; 750+ for Ivies. Of course, if 2 scores are required then you just have to send your best even if they don’t meet those scores.

Congrats and good luck!

Yes, send it. Good luck!
