Is a 770 of SAT2 Physics sufficient for getting into CMU?

Hi guys,

I scored 800 on my SAT2 Math II and 770 on my SAT2 Physics, the case which I think is not competitive among those who want to apply for CMU as well. (To be note that I am a Chinese applicant)

Assume that all of my scores(except for SAT2), GPA and even extracurricular are above the average level of CMU admission , is the 770 of SAT2 Physics still a crucial factor that could make me fail to get admitted?

Your chances of getting into CMU are slim without a perfect 800 on the SAT II Physics. Just kidding, your fine. Just max out those EC’s and your fine!

BTW, I got two 5s on my AP Physics C tests  If that will complement a bit.

dude, the high 700s still probably puts you in the top percentile. and 5’s on the ap exams - which are harder than the sat ii’s - are impressive. as long as you show passion in your essays and have good EC’s, you’ll be fine.

Thx ghostalgic and thegrant :)
