Is a 'B-' in a major-related class bad for transferring?

Hey guys, I'm caught in a dilemma and could really use some assistance:

Right now I'm a freshmen in a community college (quarter system, btw) in the Bay Area. I will be applying to schools next year for majors that are Econ related. Anyways, some schools that I will probably be applying to are UCB, USC, Cal Poly SLO, etc. For UCB, I plan on applying to their Political Economy major and for USC and Cal Poly Slo, Business.

Basically my question is how bad is it going to look that I got a B- in a Micro Economics class?

Political Econ at UCB requires three classes: Micro & Macro Econ along with Stats. I have a B- in Micro Econ, A in Stats, and plan to take Macro Econ sometime next year. IGETC will be completed before I transfer.

Based from what I've been reading off their website, it would appear that USC wants Econs done at their school. But would it still hurt my chances knowing that I got a B- in Micro Econ? I will have all their prerequisite classes (Business Calc, English 2) done, GEs will be done along with recommended Accounting classes.

Hopefully my GPA will be a 3.7 after the spring quarter ends. Will the B- look that bad? I'm not trying to make any excuses, but man I hated how that class was taught. I really didn't like the professor or his teaching methods but did not want to drop with a W.

If you can keep your gpa up that b- shouldn’t have any effect on your acceptance at all. If it was a C then it may be a little different but really try and get that GPA up
