I'm trying everything humanly possible to get into Wharton. This year I have take 5 APs total including Econ. This has been the hardest class I have ever taken and I currently have a 77 with 3 weeks left of school. I still have the state required end of course exam which should be easy since it is the same test CP students take. I also still have a final exam which I'm praying I can ace. Is a C the kiss of death?

unless you have a multimillionaire parent who donates, it’s a kiss of death. My question is: why would you want to come to Wharton if you are getting a C in Macro? You DO realize most people here can ace econ in their sleep, right? Do you really want to take intermediate econ on the Wharton curve with Wharton kids?

Look at some other schools. You can have a very happy college experience and a very successful professional life without Wharton.

If you score a 5 on the AP Macroeconomics exam, you might still have a chance. Your high score would reveal your course is quite rigorous, explaining the lackluster grade.

If you are interested in business, then definitely apply here.

I disagree with necrophiliac. Most kids here cannot ace econ in their sleep. Class averages are usally 80 or so in econ based on experience.

And of course, the professors here are pretty good for most part, so I am sure they’ll answer any questions you have (and if not, there are TAs and upperclassmen).
