We are moving our son in this Thursday to Marshall. How accessable is it from where you park to the resident halls. He is in building N. Should we bring some kind of dolly/cart or will that be more trouble than it's worth?

the reslife offices provide shopping carts, which are a lot more useful ... i've never had to wait, since most moving trips take under 30 minutes per student. but if you're coming from nearby and have easy access to a dolly, there's no harm.

I"ve used a dolly and also a cart to move my D in and out of the Muir dorms. They were very useful and I recommend bringing one or the other.

When you pack, keep in mind the use of the dolly/cart - i.e. put things in boxes you can stack 3 or 4 high. A cart might be a little more usful than a dolly with some of the weird shaped items. The cart was just a small L-shaped platform cart with 4 casters about 3' x 2' with a folding handle at one end. I borrowed one from work but I've seen them for sale before at Costco and I think Home Depot.

Remember that sometimes you end up parking further from the dorm than ideal. However, they usually are flexible on move-in day and will let you park (temporarily) along the curb, etc. to get closer.
