Is a low SAT II gonna kill my chances at Harvey Mudd?

So, I really want to go to Harvey Mudd College. I can submit Early Decision 1, but the problem is that I took the SAT II today in Chemistry and Math II. I think I did really well in Math, possibly 800, but in Chemistry, I rushed and guessed on some questions, and don’t think I did great. I took Chem two years ago and am currently enrolled in AP Chem. I am guessing that I will get somewhere between 670 - 720. I took Chem, Math, and Physics in October, and I got 670, 650, and 770 respectively. I took AP Physics C last year and struggled with it, and had to self-study E and M and Optics for the SAT II. I decided not to take the Physics this time.

After all of that (lol) I am conflicted on whether I should send whatever I get with my ED 1 app? Or should I wait, try again in December, and do ED 2?

Are the SAT IIs required?

Yes. I think they require the Math II and one other (your choice). But I think they also may require all scores (if they have not changed that recently). OP, are you saying your scores will not be back in time to know for the ED1 cycle how you did? You have a 770 Physics and possibly an 800 Math, that is good.

Something to consider: The downside with doing ED II vs ED I is you will still have to do all of your RD applications. With ED I, if you get in, you can save time and money by not doing some of your other RD applications.

Oh I posted that incorrectly. I have 670 Chem, 650 Physics, and 770 Math. I am saying that I don’t know if I did that well on my Chem retake and I don’t know if I should retake, or just send whatever I get to Mudd even if it’s a low score.

You have to send all the scores in. So your question is whether to retake and hold off on the application while you do. But they still will see this upcoming set of scores. Your scores aren’t great at this point…
