Is a masters degree almost necessary these days?

<p><a href=“SOM - 404 - Page Not Found”>http://www.michigan.gov/lara/0,4601,7-154-35299_61343_35414_60647_35451-238412--,00.html&lt;/a&gt; indicates that Michigan now requires “at least 150 semester hours of college education, including a baccalaureate degree or higher degree with a concentration in accounting, at an educational institution approved by the board” for CPA licensing.</p>

<p>It is the case that some credentials have increased educational requirements over the years. For example, it used to be possible to earn a law degree without having previously earned a bachelor’s degree (California’s earlier Governor Brown (not the current one) is an example).</p>
