Is a Tablet reommended?

a tx2500 for $1000 is a STEAL!

P.S: For the guy who was comparing a tx1000 experience to the tx2000, keep in mind that the tx1000 has a passive digitizer, which means you have to press harder on the screen (like those touchscreen PDA phones) to get it to register, whereas the tx2000 and other regular tablet PC's have active digitizers that make it very easy to write on the screen.

Which is the best tablet for 2011?

I would definitely recommend the HP tablet for a college student. It is a fully functioning PC and you will be able to take all of your notes in class on it instead of lugging around a laptop. One of my favorite features on it is that you can take hand written notes so its like you are just using a notebook and its about the same size. Plus, it has full flash capabilities which many competitors do not have. If you want to check out some student deals go to: [Class of Now (HP Public Sector)](http://www.hp.com/go/campusambassador) and check out the University of Illinois page!
