I had heard the Berkeley factors into the selection process if you had taken a third language through it’s third year. Is that true for all of the UC’s? S3 got through AP Spanish and third year Mandarin (A’s). Thank you.
An additional language would still be considered an a-g course specifically category “e” and the grades would be factored into the UC GPA for 10-11th but it does not give an applicant and extra admission “bump”. It might make an interesting personal insight essay if the applicant plans to pursue a language or linguistics major. Also AP classes are given the extra honors weighting which helps in the fully weighted UC GPA calculation but that can be said for any AP classes not just languages.
