I want to go back to school for my BA in Accounting. I have my Associates in Science. I want to change my major to Accounting from Nursing. I have worked as an Accounts Payable Clerk for five years now. Would it be hard or a little helpful since I work as an Accounts Payable Clerk. I have a two year and 7 month old and I been out of school since 2003. Would Accounting classes online be better or going to an university. Please HELP. Need Advise

I’d say NEVER EVER get an online degree. If you take online classes from a good name school, that’s different.

How often do you work? Anything over 40 plus school would be killer. If you managed chemistry, college algebra, precalculus in HS well, the rigor isn’t that hard, just a lot of studying.

Since you’ve worked as an A/P clerk, you would probably ace your intro classes, but once you start getting to 300 level courses, that knowledge won’t help you anymore.

I work 40 hours a week. When I was in college, I took algebra, trigonometry, and little bit of calculus and etc. I was thinking of going to UTA since it is close to me. Thanks for the advise

How are the 300 level course? Would it be my junior yr when I would take those classes? Thanks for the advise

It would be in your junior year (maybe one or two sophomore year). It really comes down to how hard you study (whereas for intro stuff, you could probably do well without having to study too much due to your background). Accounting is known as a (relatively) tough major
