<p>I've only ever studied for the SATs (The big blue book and etc.)
but I'm wondering if there's a different method involved when studying for the ACTs.
Should I be focusing more on reading? or math? or..?</p>

<p>I would recommend taking a practice test to have a better sense of the sections you tend to do worse.
Most people find english to be the easiest section. Math may range from incredibly difficult to quite easy depending on your knowlege on the subject, but even if you happen to be in the first group it’s not particularly difficult to study for; just memorize some formulas and rules and u should do well…
Reading/Science will require a lot of speed to tackle, so if you are not too fast those are probably the ones u will have to focus…</p>
<p>In any case, I think the red book (‘real ACT prep guide’) is the best one to study! Try it out!</p>
<p>You should first take a preliminary test to see where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Then you should study for both, but you need to study for your weaknesses more. Don’t stop when “time’s up” on your preliminary test; instead, use a stopwatch to time how long it takes you to complete the test. You can work on time management later.</p>
<p>Reading and science can be a real problem because of the speed, but if you’re fast it shouldn’t be that difficult. English can be difficult or hard, depending on how you do with English in general. The same thing goes for math.</p>
<p>For me, English is super easy. Reading is fairly easy as long as I don’t have a panic attack in the middle of the test. Math is a killer, and science can be a bit difficult but not nearly as much as math.</p>
<p>I would advise getting the Princeton Review’s Cracking the ACT 2011. Great study methods in that book! It boosted my practice test scores by 6 points.</p>
