I want to apply to Wellesley, but I’m not sure if my grades/test scores are good enough. EC’s are decent, but academically, I’m not sure.
UW GPA: 3.8
ACT: 30
Took junior and senior year classes at the University of Minnesota through dual-enrollment. Mostly AP and Pre-AP classes for freshman and sophomore years.

Logistics leader for Women who Code
President of Key Club
FPS Board Member
Green Team
FPS competitor
Awards:
Multiple international(top ten) and state level FPS awards.
It might be worth applying. Definitely have other options. Also definitely run the NPC and see whether Wellesley or any other school where you apply is likely to be affordable.
I am the parent of a Wellesley grad (2017). Just apply. Wellesley admission is quirky. Write a great essay and apply ED if it is your first choice. Make sure you have some safety schools, too!
^^^ I’d only apply ED if the school is your absolute positive top choice and it appears affordable (run net price calculator). If you need/want to compare financial offers from a number of schools then it is better to apply RD.
Guessing FPS is future problem solving program. It seems like you have a chance, but make sure to have some other options you like. My D applied this year and Wellesley was the only school she didn’t get into (waitlist instead). She had great grades, lots of AP/IB courses, strong theater involvement and other ECs, a 33 ACT. It’s worth a shot though, as you never know what will impress them.
Entrance Difficulty
Most Difficult: More than 75% of freshmen were in the top 10% of their high school class and scored over 1310 on the SAT I or over 29 on the ACT; about 30% or fewer of all applicants accepted.
I am a current Wellesley student, and I think that you have a pretty decent shot! Admissions is competitive and somewhat arbitrary (class of 2021 had the lowest acceptance rate ever at around 20%), but you look like you are on the right track. You have good ECs and a 3.8 UW is good, esp with some PSEO classes under your belt. I would recommend applying Early Evaluation to Wells if you don’t apply ED. They give you an idea of where you stand in February! Show that you are excited about Wellesley in your essay. The application in free, so you might as well apply.
About the ACT: take the SAT. I also got a 30 on the ACT and never sent it to any colleges, but when I took the SAT I got a much better relative score. I know not a lot of people in MN take it (I’m from there too), but I found the test to be easier, and I know others who felt that way too.
Also: if you are in a Women Who Code club, you would probably love our CS departement! There are a lot of female profs, and there is something very unique about being in all female CS classes.
Hi, I am a rising sophomore in Mount Holyoke. I have been thinking about transferring to Wellesley. But I heard some rumors that it is hard to transfer from a seven sister to another (cuz they dont wanna poke each other on their back) Don’t know whether it is true?
